Delays, Compromises, and Competition Shows

So unfortunately this update was delayed once again this week. I've been working very hard on a lot of things, including planning for my Namida No Riyuu video, which has also been delayed and some more stuff that I will mention in the following paragraphs. I hope you will understand that I am a very busy person who is trying her hardest to keep up with everything while not letting schoolwork slide.

Until my video for Namida No Riyuu is released, you may listen to full song on TrivialSerenity's YouTube Channel. On March 18th, he posted the song in the following video:

Lately, I have been more active with participation on certain forums. Not so much the VAA as another site called Voice Hollywood. Similar to the VAA, Voice Hollywood, abbreviated VH, is a forum that basically revolves around voice acting. However, unlike the VAA, it has an equal or sometimes greater focus on music, live action acting, and competition/podcast shows. There are a few Voice Acting projects as well as musical choruses that are posted now and then, but the main focus is competition shows.

Competition shows are basically for fun and feedback. You submit as song, acting piece, acting/mixing piece, or other work for each round as by the theme of that week and the nature of the particular show, and you compete against your peers on the forum for the title of winner. Winner, and sometimes 2nd and 3rd place, get a badge to display in their signature. In the process you have an opportunity to get comments from others on your performance as well as feedback from the judges and sometimes a score to match. It's not at all like the high end competition shows you see on TV like American Idol or The Voice in which millions of people get to hear you sing, although the process of how the judging styles and concept of how the show is run are similar.

There are 2 shows on VH that I'm currently involved with. The first is called Udderly Absurd, a crazy voice acting show hosted by BlackjackAV and Reid2Me in which competitors submit an acting performance based on the criteria for one of the host's/judge's theme options. Depending on which theme we select, we earn two tokens for that team. Bonus tokens are also available based on score.

The second show I am on, is called Popstar. This show is currently on it's second season and in the audition process until tomorrow, March 25, 2012. My audition was featured on the first episode of the show, and is not currently available in the Hit Singles section of the forum, a place for members to post any musical works. The concept of this show is that of a singing competition. Each week, there'll be a different theme to record a song for. The song will be featured on the show, then judged by the three judges, Rachellular, Jefferz, and ValkyrieCeles.

I may audition for more shows as they are quite fun, if not now, during the summer. I'm leaning toward during the summer as I am very busy with my education and interests.

Shows are usually available to listen to through the VH archive once it has been updated for new episodes if you'd like to listen, as the Competition Shows area of the forum is only available to members. The archive is run by VH member, Russ. Understand that since it is being maintained by one person, new content may not go up immediately. You're also free to join if you're a friendly person who loves to sing or voice act. VH is very welcoming to new members who want to be a part of our community.

EDIT: You can now listen to some shows at http://vh.bunny-radio.com/?p=261. The Archive is not currently being updated and the bunny-radio link is accessible to everyone.

I will be continuing with my music uploads to my Musician YouTube, starting with my delayed video for Namida No Riyuu as soon as possible, in addition to the competition shows. I may even post some of my Popstar entries on the channel too if I decide they're YouTube worthy.

I will also be continuing with my 3 ongoing Voice Acting Roles: Peach in School Of Smash, Twilight Sparkle in Relieving the Hypnophobia, and Cure Mint in Pretty Cure All Stars DX Full Movie Fandub. I might also do another demo reel in April or May.

Progress and Updates

Midterms are finally over for me! Whoo! Now that I have a little bit more time on my hands, I can get back to my music and acting.

This post is a little late, I know, as I usually post on Satudays. The reason for this is I've been busy on the weekend recording and planning. I finished some lines this weekend for a few projects including Relieving the Hypnophobia, a fun crude comedy about drunken Kirby, Twilight Sparkle, and Hatsune Miku's adventure in a screwed up world that makes no sense. It is quite fun to voice Twilight in the show.

During the week, the fandub from School Days that I mentioned before was finally released. You can find the video here:

As mentioned in my Video Blog, I will be making a video for the extended version of the song for my own channel, which will be up in a few weeks.

You can watch the video blog, which was recorded at my friend, Tyler's, dorm here:

I don't believe i mentioned this in a previous post, but I am also part of a Fandub of the anime movie, "Pretty Cure All Stars DX". I play Cure Mint in the dub. Part 1 and a few promos have been released. I will be in Part 2 and my voice can be heard in the promo below. I am very impressed at the quality for a fan production. It looks very professional, and I'm glad to be a part of the dub. You can follow the series at http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL3518A79AC80575B2

School of Smash's New Logo

All that is left on my ToDo list now, is recording for School of Smash episode 2 and my cover videos.

I am very excited about what is going to be coming in the near future. My new cover songs, which I shall leave a surprise for now.

On that note, my final words for this post are "Thank you soooo much for the support you guys have given me with my music and acting. I never thought I would come this far. It may not be much, but I am extremely grateful!"

Impressive Fact of the Week: This post was typed on iPod touch and edited on a computer (only to add media, apply formatting and correct any mistakes in punctuation, capitalization or typos). All text was done on iPod.
